Batch 35‎ > ‎

Lesson Blog

This lesson blog allows the instructors to communicate with the participants of ET9105A. If there are observation or things that we would like to share with but did not have time to mention in the class. We have good experience with last batches and we hope that new batches can learn from the senior and be better than them.

Some of the info may be generic across different batches. Instead of repeating the info, I suggest that students also read all my previous lesson blog to get an insight of important observation.

Stay tune and keep in touch.

Here is the final schedule for the coming consultation session.

0900-0930 [Piccolo Plus: Group 6]
0930-1000 [Artote: Group 1] - looking at the activities on their blog, or rather the lack of activities, this group is trying "very hard" to fail!.  When I see group that try so hard, I'll also try my best to fulfil their wish!!
1000-1030 [Macho Moosely: Group 3]
1030-1100 [CubeHub: Group 2]
1100-1130 [Rajansh Culinary: Group 5]
1130-1200 [Skyrus: Group 4]

Please be fair to everyone and be on time so that later group would not need to wait for their turn. I had emphasis the importance of responsibility countless time and I hope everyone can take it seriously. For those that did not blog enough, this is the last warning before the consultation if you do not want to face the music from me. Everyone MUST turn out for this consultation, physically or virtually. To be highly effective, this time I'll introduce a format.
5 min - brief overview of your venture
10 min - update each and EVERY members' work in relation to the venture
15 min - discussion on problems and solutions

Be totally prepared for this consultation with me and Adrian. Good luck.

Team Progress Update

posted 25 May 2014, 21:55 by Roderick Chia

I had noticed that the schedule on this course site for batch 35 had a mistake. The team update is supposed to be on 7th June not 4th June.  I had since updated the site as well as corrected the same mistake in the slide for lesson 1. I re-upload in the attachment here in case anyone need a reference to the correct slide. I'll be setting up an appointment booking site for every team to book the respective time slot for the team updated during 7th June 2014.

On this topic of progress update. I'm very disappointed of the lack of activates even after the exam. I was expecting that all the team will be busy with moving ahead with the business. Some team even thought that they have time to take a rest after exam. Yes, you do have time for rest if failure is what you enjoy having. There are so many unpredictable things that might happen in a venture (venture means risky undertaking) that no amount of preparation could ever seems enough.  So I'm surprise to read that participants exam is the hardship that they had overcome and therefore deserved a rest.  If you do this venture right, it should be worse than the exam stress. If not, you are likely doing it wrong!  Please wake up and start working before it is too late to undo any mistake.

Lesson 2

posted 6 Apr 2014, 00:31 by Roderick Chia   [ updated 6 Apr 2014, 00:41 ]

Lesson 2 saw most of the group have their business idea approved with few needed rework and most needed more enhancement.  This batch, I set new incentive never provided before. I allowed all to change the account ID, hence their permanent email address under @ntuentrepreneur.org.  This is to encourage them to use it as their mail email account.  I have gotten 14 requests.  I might want to open this offer to every future batches and also might even send out to previous batch to give them this offer. Hope that we can have more engagement on this domain.

I've also uploaded the lesson slide for all to refer if case some of the pointers in the lesson were missed.

Team formation

posted 31 Mar 2014, 09:49 by Roderick Chia

Lesson 1 has been conducted last week. As usual, it was always disappointing to find irresponsible students who came late or not even attending the lesson. In few of my blog for previous batch, I had highlighted the issue on sense of responsibility.  I don't believe anyone would have long term success without a sense of responsibility. That is why I'm so insistent of such value quality. I hope that I can see greater improvement in this aspect.

Below is the team formation that has been updated and that the sharing has also been set up on the blogging site for the for user right access.

However, the following members are still not having an official team and I hope that they can update me once they belong to any team.
  1. Darren Tng Wei Zhi
  2. Gu Xingzhi
  3. He Weinan
  4. Lan Tian
  5. Phua Jia Han
  6. Nurun Jumana
  7. Brandon Yong Yun Sin
The slide for lesson 1 has also uploaded here for easy reference.
